Details of 2 different Dodge WC 56/57/58 door latches

CC

The first style of door latches is a simple welded metal piece with cast iron kind of wing nut on the inside.
As these style is shown on vintage photos from the Dodge factory in 1942 and shown clearly on a 1941
Command Car I think this style is early.
Of course it might be that both latch styles are used during the same time period!
Any further information would be highly appriciated.

The second style door latches are made from cast iron.
Vintage photos show these latches together with the later big fuel filler neck.
Of course it might be that both latch styles are used during the same time period!
Any further information would be highly appriciated.
